ATTEMPTS TO DISCREDIT THE GOVERNMENT.

(United Press Assjoiatiott-Copyright). (Received February 24, 12.20 a.m.) LONDON,- Feb. 23. The “Daily News’ ” Parliamentary correspondent declares that the House of Lords’ plan to thwart the Government doesi not consist of the rejection of the Army Annual Bill, but says. a series of attacks will bo made to discredit the Government on grounds ot corruption, including the Marconi investments, traffic in honors, and the Stuart Samuel case. The resolution concerning Lord Murray was followed to-day by Lord Selborne’s motion condemning contributions to the party’s funds as influencing the Ibestowal of honors. Mr Hall, M.P. for Normantqn, asked to-day whether the Premier would appoint a Select Committee to inquire into the sources and expenditure of political funds and to report on what legislation is desirable to prevent corruption. Lord iCharnwood made a similar request in the House of Lords in favor of a Royal Commission.
