- AAI ERICA WINS. AIcLOUGHLIN DEFEATS DIXON. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT] LONDON. July 28. America won the Davis Cup. McLoughlin beat Dixon. B—6,8 —6, 6 —3, 6—2. There was beautiful weather for the final. Dixon served with great judgment, and handled McLoughlin’s service well. In the first set both volleyed magnificently, and there was a fine, even game to six all. AlcLoughlin won the seventh. After deuce Dixon gave him the set with a double fault at the finish. McLoughlin’s service in the second and third sets was practically unplayable. Although Dixon played gamely lie was weakened bv his exertions in the first set, and the American held the whip hand. The round between Parke and AVi 1liams began an exhibition game. Parke won, 6—2, 5 —7, 6 —4, 6 —2.
