LONDON, June 1
The “Telegraph” and “Mail,” commenting on the rejection of the Borden Bill, emphasise the need for the Admiralty laying down three warships immediately in accordance with Mr. Churchill’s speech on April 1, with reference to the whole of the Empire’s requirements.
The “Chronicle” says that both Mr Borden and Sir Wilfred. Laurier proposed. that Canada should help the Motherland, and doubtless the help will eventually be given. Public opinion. the paper continues, is against Mr Borden’s Bill, but the Senate has clearly not a majority of the electorates behind it.
