HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING.

TOKOMARU BAY

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TOKOMARU BAY, May 29. The annual meeting of householders was held in the school house on Monday evening last. There was no great special interest taken in the proceedings, about 20 householders being present. The chairman, Mr W. Oates, sen., presented the annual report of the committee. The report on the whole was entirely satisfactory. The following special prizes have been alloted during the past year : —»• Ist class attendance certificate, Miss Frances Burdett and Miss Constance Oates: Masters Sid Bnrdett and Norman. Oates; 2nd class, Masters R. Binder and M. Hewetson. .. . Standard VI. exam, took place in December. Six scholars were presented, 3 gaining proficiency and one partial certificates, the successful pupils being Eileen Gauntlet and Master Norman Oates. Miss Ethel Wilson gained a partial certificate. Miss C. Oates won Mrs H. Fail-lie’s gold medal for dux of the school. Votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring officers and also to Mr Humphrey, the- headmaster. Two new members were elected in ed for the ensuing year: Messrs W. Oates, sen., (chairman), C. Burdett. •H‘. H.
