Public speculation was brisk, the sum of £14,194 being handled during the day, which, with yesterday’s turnover, brings the total for ■the meeting up to £29,198, as against £21,084 for the two days of the summer meeting of 1912. The first day of the Westland Racing Club’s meeting was held in splendid weather. There was a large.attendance. The totalisator investments was £7170 as compared with £603-5 for the corresponding day last year.' Results:—-
