SOUTHLAND RACING CLUB. (.TRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM] INVERCARGILL, Jan. 3. The summer meeting of the Southland R.C. was concluded to-day in splendid weather, before a large attendance. Public speculation was brisk, the sum of £14,194 being handled during the day, which, with yesterday’s turnover, brings the total for ■the meeting up to £29,198, as against £21,084 for the two days of the summer meeting of 1912. Results:— Summer Handicap, 7 furlongs.—3 Summer Time-8.2 1, 5 Vid 8.11 2,2 Punchinello 9.1 3. Also ran: 1 Gold Ring 9.8, 6 Pallant 9.3, 4 Miss Kellerman 9.0, 1 Lord Frederick 8.3* 7 Kitty O’Shea 7.7. The first day of the Westland Racing Club’s meeting was held in splendid weather. There was a large.attendance. The totalisator investments was £7170 as compared with £603-5 for the corresponding day last year.' Results:—-

Stafford Handicap.—Miss Sylvia 1, Furo 2, The Nut 3. Won by a length. Time: 1.34.

Stewards’ Handicap.—lrish Gift 1, Moreykoff 2, Bridegroom 3. Won easily. Time: 1.8.

Kanieri Handicap Trot. —Skins 1, Ringarooma 2. Joe Davis 3. Won comfortably. Time: 2.36.

Westland Handicap.—Waikahua 1, Corrie.2, Ellerton 3. Won with a good deal to spare. Time: 2.11 1-5. Summer Handicap Trot.—The Boss 1, Comrade 2. Sgt Havelock 3, Won very easily. Time: 4.0. . ,
