Replying to Mr Wedgwood (Liberal) Mr Hareourt (Secretary of State for the Colonies) said that he was considering regulations to prevent retiring governors and other colonial officials from becoming directors or employees of companies operating in the Colony- which they had just left without the new governor's permission. Mr Hareourt's reply refers to Crown colonies and protectorates.
