Irishman and Hymerhill made the pace most of the journey, Embracer, Royal Merv, an-d John o’ Groats heading the others. A fine finish resulted in a win by two lengths, a length between second and third-. Time, Imin 38-Jsec. A protest against the winner was dismissed.. Nursery Handicap.—Athenio 9.2 1, Dakai 8.0 2/Rock 7.6 3. Athenio led throughout. Won by a head, four lengths between second and third. Time, Imin Ofsec. Twenty-three started.
Grandstand Stakes.—loli 7.4 1, Allured' 7.9 2, Santano 6.7 3. Ten started. Won by ’ three-quarters of a length, a length and a-lialf between second and third. Time, Imin 53sec. Embracer was sold on Wednesday to W. Norman for 700 guineas, with all contingencies.
