WORK RESUMED AT WAIKINO. “THE BEGINNING OF THE END;” Bv Telegraph—Special Correspondent . WAIHI, Sept, 9. The first whistle summoning jt-he men to work since the strike commenced sounded at the Waihi Company’s Victoria Battery at Waikino this morning, when between 40 and 50 employees resumed won).

Everything passed off quietly both at Waihi and Waikino yesterday. . At the former place the followingup tactics have almost been discontinued. , , ~ • It is understood that the Avaihi Company has secured the lease of one of the- boarding houses in VV aikino, and also holds an option over the old Waikino Hotel now run as a boarding house. Great interest is being taken m connection with the court cases to be heard on Wednesday. . I understand that Air Parry (President* of the Aliners’ Union) is included in the batch of summonses recently issued in connection with last Monday’s incident at Waikino. It is understood that the police will remain in Waihi till the Strike is settled.
