Handicap. 31- miles less 92 yards. Uxbridge (Cameron) 10.7 1 Wimmera (O’Neill) 10.7 2 Warwidgerio (Stuart) 9.11 3 Flavel did not start. At the start Wimmera led from Light Ballast and Wingarira, At the turn Ballistar showed the way to. Wimmera, Warwidgerie and Wingarira. Entering the straight the second time the order was Wimmera, Ballistar, Lion, Black Native, Uxbridge- In front of the stand Lion fell, Wimmer.a leading Ballistar by six lengths. Flash Jack fell in the straight- and Monarch came down at the back. Uxbridge, forcing ahead, joined Wimmera at the last hurdle and raced him homo and Avon by a ne k, Wanvidgirie five lengths aivay. Time: G.3B|, a record fer the race.

The “Daily Telegraph,” commenting on the race, says that- credit for the race is due to Wimmera, who ran a great race, and av.:is never really headed till the last hurdle. The folly of Winimera’s jockey allowing the horse to run himself to a standstill is apparent. Had O’Neill nursed Wimmera, Uxbridge had a much harder task, and it is doubtful if lie could have proved equal thereto.
