AUCKLAND, Feb. 10
The Premier, replying to a statement made by Mr. Rutherford, that the new po: t office at Wellington was not fully occupied, said that Mr. Rutherford was misinformed. The Department was spending £xGGO per annum for < itsice premises in A\ cllingtou alone. Ihe general of the Depaian ut throughout the Dominion for the last- five or ten years had been so enormous that there was no post oiiice in the large centres that had not been increased. The Premier remains at Rotorua till the 17th or 18th inst. Though largely occupied with departmental work, he is enjoying a rest from more arduous duties, and is much bench by the respite. On leaving Rotorua lie returns to Auckland, where lie attends a big [Manchester Unity p cnic, and attends to various public matters.
