LICENSING COMMITTEE.
APPROACHING ELECTION Air. H. E. Hill, Registrar of Eke- , tors, has received a circular from tho r*® head effioe, notifying that the triennial election of the Gisborne Licensing Committee will be held on Alarcb 9, and that nominations close on Monday, Alarch 1. Persons desiring no bo enrolled to enable them to vote aro reminded that the roll will be dosed next Alonday, February 15. For toe information of the public it might bo pointed out that- any person who has become 21 years of age since the general election, provided ‘ they fulfil the other conditions, can be enrolled. The fact that they were not able to v . at the general election does not bar them from voting at the licensing committee election. The Licensing Committee, in office at the present time was elected oil the roll for the AVaiapu electorate, and the new committee will be e.ected on tho roll for the newly-constitu-ted Gisborne electorate. The members of the present committee are: Chairman, Air. AY. A. Barton, S.M., and Messrs D. Hepburn. G. Darton, J. Tombleson, J. Somervell, and Hon. Captain Tucker.
