, CONFERENCE AT ORAKEI. Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 24.. The southern and district delegatee to the Maori conference, which is to be held at Orakei, were welcomed by tlio Orakei natives this afternoon. Some 50 were present, and 'another party under the Rev. Mr Bennett, of ltotarua, is expected at Orakei tomorrow. Mr. J .Thornton, President of the Te Auto Association, is presiding. Since tho Association was organised it has received much help from the Government native school teachers and others engaged in Maori work.
