INCENDIARISM.
FURTHER FIRES AT TIMARU. Press Association. TIMARU, Feb. 24. Two attempts to destroy buildings by fire were discovered here at early hours yesterday morning. Shortly after 12 on Saturday night a fire, composed of chips and bits of packing and coal, was found at the foot of long timbers reared against the outer wall of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s wool store. In the store there were 2500 bales of wool. Had the fire been left a few minutes longer the whole store must have gone. Another fire was discovered about the same time outside Dalgety and Co.’s business premises. In this case two cement casks had, with, small wood and paper, been lighted against the wall of the wooden buildings, in which kerosene and sheep dip are stored. This also was discovered just as the fire was getting a good hold.
