“.MISS” ROBINSON’S LETTERS. FUR THER INC KIAIIXATTNG DOCUMEN IS. United Press Association light (Received Feb. 20, 10.15 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 20. At the prosecution of Miss Robinson for perjury, Sir Charles Matthews, at Bow-street, submitted further evidence confirming the cables regarding Robinson’s antecedents. Documents showed that she received £501) from two insurance companies in settlement of losses stated at £2500 through burning her residence at New Brighton, Now Zeaalnd. Correspondence cablegrams produced showed that the Druco Company accepted her overtures as a witness, and paid her passage money to London, and promised her remuneration in the event of success. A mass of publications were seized at .Robinson’s lodgings, relating to tho Duke of Portland'; YYelbeck, and Dickens, and a history of the Druco case with passages marked, also copies of letters purporting to be from the Duke of Portland to Robinson, indicating that- she was his much beloved mistress. Inspector Drew stated that lie found a draft of Robinson s evidence stating that the Duke pt Portland gave her £SOOO in notes m lb/b, and also other moiiev. . She has since confessed that the Portland letters were her own concoctions, and the evidence given in tho box to be false. She churned to receive another letter, purporting to be from Dickens, written to warn her to be tiHit-fisted and ltard as grindstone!* hi order to save a resurrection of the trouble. The case was adjourned till Monday.
