ROWING.
The filial race in the Schumacher Fours (Gisborne Club) was rowed yesterday morning, when Dustin (str), Tait, Hamilton, and F. I'arnell beat G. Pufletfc (str), Dobson, Grinlinton, ami Gideon, Dustin got away well, ami at Dr. Williams’ bad a lead of a length, which he easily maintained to the Kaiti bridge. Here Pullett spurted, but could not touch the leaders, and Dustin, putting on pace, won by a length and a half.
THE AYGRLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP. Press Association. AYANGANUi, Feb. 18. AYebb and Tresidder put in their usual trainiing to-dny. AVebb was afloat at 0 a.m., and traversed ,the whole course, the greater portion of it at .a fair pace. His sculling was particularly clean. Tresidder tipped the bourn to-day at 12st 101 b. ill' went over the course twice to-day. Tresidder does not believe ill trials over the whole course, and he limits,his work to .fairly hard spins, 'and on Sunday and Monday lie will practice sprinting. He is confident that lie wi’l be able to wrest the championship from AA'chli. whose party is equally confident that their ninn will retain the honor. A rather strong wind is blowing tonight. and there are indications that min is at hand.
