BLUE MOON” COMPANY v GISBORNE ELEVEN.

At the Victoria Domain yesterday, a match was played between elevens representing Mr J. C. W illiamson h “Blue Moon” company and an eleien representing the Poverty Bay Cricket Association. The local team baited first, but made an imlillercut display The total only readied 1 lo—llarker, F. Sluirpe, W. Gibson, Miller, and J SVack being responsible for tiro bulk of the runs. J. Hogue, a son of the Minister .of Education lor New South Wales, proved the most successful bowler, and captured five wickets for 12 runs off three overs. Hall, Kenneth, Sweeney, and Radelifio also bowled well. The visitors made, a disappointing display in the first innings, and could only total 78, and Hall, Kennitli, and Murks wore the only batsmen to get going. The local eleven made a disastrous start in their second essay, and four wickets were down for 7 runs, when Hai'ker was joined bv )Y. Gibson, and the pair t ok the* total to (So before the intter was bowled by Radcliffe lor 23. I -irker again played a fine innings. and was left with 31 (not out).
