DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER. P A ssoci a t io n. WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Mr. Frederick Cooper, seedsman and nurseryman, aged 07 years, died last, night at his residence, lower Hutt. Air. Cooper arrived in ’Wellington with his parents in 1812, and when the gold rush broke out in Otago lie went south to try his fortune there, and lie also spent some time in the Ballarat goldfields. On his return to New Zealand he settled down in ’Wellington, marrying tinonly daughter of Mr. Robert Holt, carpenter, of this city. He established a business as a seedsman and nurseryman in this city about forty years ago.
