A COWARDLY MURDER.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 10.17 p.m., Jao. 19, Sydney, Jan. 19. Tho landlord was awakened by hearing a shot. He rushed for the door. It was looked. He heard a couple of men escape from the gateway in a buggy awaiting them. They secured only a few coppers and a quantity of cigarottes. Constable Long held a revolver and a partially burned match in his hands. Evidently the burglars wore in waiting, and shot him immediately he passed the door.
An attempt was mado to burglarise tho hotel a fortnight ago. Constable Long undertook to keep a sharp watch.
