sir .Joseph ward heads a MOONLIGHT RUN.

(Times Special Correspondent.) Wellington, last night,

The spectacle of a Minister for Railways heading amooniight run of the Wellington Cycling Club was witnessed to-night. Sir Joseph has never shown a disposition to ride the high horse, however well he may ride a bicycle, and this fact contributes largely to his popularity.

LOCAL CYCLING CLUB. A general meeting of the Poverty Bay Cycling Club was held last night. There was a good attendance of members, Mr F. Eure presiding. Six new members were elected.

The following officers were elected : Patron, Mr C. A. DeLautour ; Patroness, Mrs DeLautour; President, Mr Acland Hood ; vice-Presidents, Messrs Chas. Evans, C. Neenan, A. Dewing, D. J. Parker, T. Steele, J. Ciesar. C. White, H. Sandlant, E. D. Smith, J. Harding, E. P. Joyce, W. Miller, K. X. Jones, A. E. Muir, W. D. Lysnar, D. J. Barry, J. Lucas, and Drs. Craig and Williams: Captain, Mr F. Eure : vice-Captains, Messrs T. Dalrymple and Younghusband ; Secretary, Mr Cruikshank; Treasurer, Mr Ranger : Ladies' Captain, Miss Heany; Committee. Messrs C. Nicholson, J. C. NDbett, Quinn, Andrews, Wall, Misses J Lewis and Hyett; Auditors, Messrs C. H. j Ambridge and A. Eees.
