Strike of Domestics.

Berlin, Sept. 26. Berlin is threatened with a strike of domestics. Hitherto Germany has been comparatively free of the dearth of servants which has troubled the United States and England ; now it is the turn of the Fatherland. The women domestics of the capital show a tendency toward social democracy. Recently they have been meeting in public assemblies to denounce the existing system of hiring, to claim higher wages (a cook can now be had for £L a month), more free time and a larger liberty in the way of social intercourse with friends of the opposite sex. The Socialists are doing a brisk business with the disconnected Berlin domestics, and those who are following the movement witli attention predict a revival of trouble.
