Women Footpads.
THREE OF THE GANG ' CAPTURED. Paris, Oct. 5. The police finally have caught three of the gang of women footpads who have been terrorising the fashionable residence parts of the city. • Two of the prisoners—one 20 years old, the other 31—were caught just after they had “ held up,'’ with drawn knives, a wealthy bachelor who was returning home at midnight. The man had allowed him* self to be relieved of his money, watch, and jewellery, but had followed the fair robbers at a safe distance until they reached the boulevards, where theie still were manv people. An outcry then caused a chase, which ended in capture. The other woman bandit is 40 years old, and is stronger than most men. She made the mistake of stopping a secret service man, who at sight of her drawn revolver instantly knocked her down with a blow on the mouth. He managed to handcuff her, but only after a fierce battle, in the course of which she hit on half o l bis left ear.
