Friendship between England and America was tho key-note of the gathering. Mr Choate, in a speech, said that knowing both he predicted that any possiblo question could have been harmoniously and honestly adjusted. Ex-Speaker Reed said that there was no country for which the Americans cherished such tenderness as for the old homeland.
