Pirates still proves troublesome in Chinese waters, and the Hongkong Daily Press reports that a Chinese junk was attacked by these gentry on August 28 and two men were killed. The pirates departed after annexing about 30 dollars’ worth of clothing, and the water police arriving shortly afterwards, it was found that they had overlooked 1400 dollars of specie.
