BOWLING.

At the Gisborne Bowling Club yesterday, a few games were played in the morning, and at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, a large number of visiting bowlers arrived by the Botomahana. Amongst the latter were many clergymen from Auckland, who were on their way to Dunedin, and arrangements were accordingly made for games between the visitors and local men. The match was decided on the aggregate points, with the following results

The match between Dingwall and Ponsford’s teams was a ding dong one, and the local champion was put to his best test by the Remuera champion skip, the latter securing a well-deserved win by two points. Afternoon tea was supplied by the Club, and was much appreciated by the ladies. The visitors on leaving the green expressed much pleasure on their afternoon's enjoyment.
