Wellington, last night. , In connection with the forthcoming Antarctic expedition, it has been decided Unit moteriologieal observations be taken in Other parts of tue world contemporaneously with those taken in the frozen regions. The Government have received a communication on the subject from the Agent-General, conveying a request that observations may be taken on vessels trading to and from the colony while the expedition is in tho Antarctic. The Marine Department is to take steps in thematter.
