RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

CHILD KILLED WHILST PLAYING ON THE LINE.

(By Telegraph—Tress Association.) Dunedin, last night. A six year-old child named William (Rounds, whose parents reside near Port Chalmers railway line, was killed at the Hanover street crossing this evening. The child, with others, was playing on the line. The driver of the train from Port Chalmers noticed the little fellow, but was unable to pull up the engine, and four carriages passed over the body, which was cut in two. No one appears to have been in charge of the children.
