(Spiv'ttl to Times.) Auckland, last night. Mr Hugh .1. Finn, solicitor, of Gisborne, has commenced practice here. M.VUIiLS IN AMERICA.
t learn from members of the American Mormon Mission, who recently arrived in Auckland from Salt Lake City, Utah, America, that eight Gisborne Natives left that place about nine years ago, are the first oi New Zealand Maoris to reside in America. The Maoris, who include tho Morman chief llirini Nliangu, of Matua, have, 1 gather, definitely decided to remain in tluir American homes. The Aineiie.’ffns were particularly taken with the Gisborno Maoris, and it is pleasing to note that tiio greatest good feeling exists among the Americans and Maoris. The former are good and kind to them in every way. The performances of the Maoris to their new friends were well received, the exhibition of hakus fairly paralyse the Americans, llirini, in bidding farewell to the American Mormons prior to their departure for New Zealand, desired to be remembered kindly and feelingly to his old Gisborne comrades. A number of American Mormons expect to visit Gisborne ere long, and preach tu the Maoris.
