At the first wool sales of the season, the attendance was good and competition brisk. Merino wool was sto 10 per cent, higher than last year's opening rates; fine crossbred's 5 per cent, higher ; medium and coarse crossbreds and iambs’ wool 15 per cent, lower. STOCK SALES. There was a large attendance at the monthly stock sale held by Messrs Common, Shelton, and Co., and Wyllie and Mason at Waerenga-a-hika yesterday. Messrs Common, Shelton, and Co. yarded about tifty headed ol cattle, mostly young stock of good quality. Threc-year-old heifers realised up to X*s, and two-year-old up to .Li ss. Two-year-old steers sold at Xo 15s, and twenty months old steers at X 3 7s (id, weiuiers A~2 4s. Air Grayson's stud owes were passed in, failing to reach the reserve.
