MUNICIPAL CONTROL OF TRAMWAYS.

Christchurch, last night. A conference of delegates from local bodies interested in the purchasing of the tramways in and around Christchurch met again this evening. The committee appointed previously recommended that the tramways he purchased and controlled by the City Council. This was rejected, and the conference adjourned to allow the local bodies to consider proposals to work the system by an elective hoard or a combined committee.
