MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Ix the case of Fanny Stevens v. J. B. Adams, the new trial ordered by the Supreme Court, was set down for October, 81st. Mr Jones appeared for the applicant, and Mr DeLautour for the defendant. Judgment, in default, was given in the ease of G. Stubbs v. Heta Tc Irani, for £29 Os Sd, and costs £3 16s. Mr Lysnar appeared for the plaintiff. Common, Shelton and Co. sued John Maynard, to recover £43 14s, alleged to have been paid a second time by mistake. Mr DeLautour appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr Nolan for the defendant. The statute of limitations had been pleaded, and preliminary argument was taken on this question, Mr DeLautour contending that the statute did not apply. After hearing argument, His Worship ruled in favor of the defendent, and Mr DeLautour elected to take a non-suit. Costs, £2 5s were allowed. James McKee v. Valentine Aston, a judgment summons, an order was made for immediate payment of £1 15s, in default two days' imprisonment, Mr Lysnar appeafed for plaintiff.
