THE NEW BRIDGE OPENED,

(Special to Times.) Nuhaka, yesterday. The new bridge was unofficially opened tO-uay. There was a grand meeting ol

people. The weather was perfect, about HHJ being present at a lunch held on the bridge. Mr •F. S. Cooper drove the first trap over, with Mr J. A. Nichol, contractor, and Mr J. Oliivier, inspector, a large procession of Maoris following.

Tile usual bottles were broken. Aftei christening the bridge “ The liahaunguna,” the bridge was covered with an awning, and lung with lanterns, ready for a ball in the evening.
