A Lamp Wanted.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —I would urge upon the Council the necessity of making provision in. their loan proposals for the better lighting of the town, more particularly the upper portion. A lamp is badly wanted at the corner of Berry and Cobden-streets so as to enable residents in that locality to see their wav home at night. I notice we are always looked up when our rates are in arrears, or when our votes are required, but otherwise we are out in the cold. We can drag along very well without water and drainage, but we cannot do without a light in the street. Trusting the Council will stretch a point and grant this re-quest-.—l am, etc., Taxpayer.
