INDIGNANT COUNCIL.

SANITAIvY WAXGAN UI,

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, last night.

At the Borough Council meeting tonight strong exception was taken to a paragraph appearing in the New Zealand Times on September sth, in which it was stated that at an inquest in Wanganui, the Coroner had said one of the things noglectod in Wanganui was sanitation. The Mayor said that the Coroner had denied using the words, stating that he had not been reported correctly. The Mayor also said that L>r Mason inspected the town a few months ago, and pronounced it ono of the most sanitary in the colony. The statement, which was apparently copied from the local Herald, was afterwards corrected in the Times.
