DIVINE HEALER SCHLATTER, Washington, July 20. Francis Schlatter, the so-called “ divino healer,” was tried in the police court today as a vagrant and fined .£2 or thirty days in the workhouse. As he returned to the cells he pleaded that tho workhouse authorities refrain from shearing his locks.

Schlatter stated to tho court that he had come here to got his wife, who had deserted him, to approve of tho sale of some English property, and, becoming discouraged, had commenced to drink.

A policeman testified he found Schlatter surrounded by a boisterous crowd, and that ho admitted having been on a spree since July 3.
