AUCKLAND RACING CLUB’S PRO GRAMME.

OVER TWENTY-ONE THOUSANI OFFERED IN STAKES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. The Auckland Racing Club committee have finally passed the programmes foi moetings to be held during the season. The prize money amounts to 1121,570. The most noteworthy alteration in the matter of increased prize-money in connection with the A.R.C. programme is the raising of the stakes for the Auckland Cup from lOOOsovs to loOOsovs, which addition, it may be remarked, brings that event up to the same value as the New Zealand Cup. The second and third moneys have been fixed at 2oosovs and loOsovs respectively, so that the owner of the first horse will receive 1100 sovs. The reduction of prize money for the Century Stakes of 1903 to oOOsovs, and the curtailment of the distance from a mile and a half to a mile and a quarter is another noteworthy alteration. With regard to penalties attached to the Century Stakes it has been decided to fix the extreme penalty at 141 b, which is specially mentioned in conditions attached to the race. 1 Applications for the respective positions of judge and starter were opened, and on a vote being taken Mr E. ]?. Lusk was appointed to the first-named office, and Air George Cutts to the latter.
