Opinion in Australia
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyrigh Sydney, Aug. 19. The Sydney Morning Herald, referring to the New Zealand Financial Statement, says the continued prosperity of New Zealand is a source of much satisfaction to Australia, and whenever any assistance is required of the Commonwealth, doubtless it will be readily forthcoming, unless such help is contrary to the policy determined on by Australia. Whether Mr Seddon is right in telling the farmers they need not fear being penalised in sending their produce to Australia is another question which will remain unsolved until the Federal tariff is announced.
