THREAT TO SHOOT THE SCOUNDREL.
(Special to Times.) Auckland, last night,
The following manifesto has b’en sent to the papers for publication:—“ Wo, the undersigned, wish it to bo clearly understood by the individual who is acting ns 1 ghost ’ in the town and suburbs of Auckland, that after this notico appears in this paper, his or her life will be in danger, for wo, the undersigned, havo formed a party of 20, armod to tho teetii, and willing to give our lives rather than havo this lunatic at large. It may not be known officially, but at tho present time more than half the community of Auckland walk at night with fire-arms. Hoping this may be warning to tho lunatic known as the ‘Ghost,’ wo are,” (boro follow twenty signatures).
