MR LYSNAR’S FIGURES.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sin, —J ll your report of the meeting of Kaiti ratepayers, Mr Ponsford is reported to have stated that he found by Mr Lvsnar’s figures that he was paying a fourth more in the borough than in tho Kaiti, and they would do well to remain as they were when they were so well off. Mr Ponsford has no right to make such a statement at a public meeting, for he must know that such is not the case. The majority of borough ratepayers are paying less by more than a third than the Kaiti ratepayers, and I challenge Mr Ponsford or anybody else to prove otherwise. Mr Ponsford owns properties in both places, and I should liko him to supply the public with the capital value of each property and tho amount of rates he is paying. We shall then seo how Mr Ponsford'arrives at the conclusion that he pays less rates at Kaiti than in Gisborne. —I am, etc., Accountant.
