PROSPEROUS CLUB.

RACING IN AUCKLAND. [By Telegraph Press Association.] Auckland, last night. The annual general meeting of the Auckland Racing Club was held this afternoon. Tho Chairman (Mr McLachlan), in moving the adoption of the report, said that tho added monoy this year had been .£3,900 more than for the previous year. To that might be added 5 per cent, which brought another thousand, and the reduction in acceptances another .£SOO, making a total of LSOOO. Tho financial position was very satisfactory. All they owed upon the estate was 417,500, and against that they had ,£SOOO on deposit in tho bank. There was L 1209 in running accounts, with other smaller sums, made .£7,824, against £7,500, leaving the club morcly in debt £262, with a property worth £25,000 to LUO,OOO. They might therefore congratulate themselves upon having thenfine property practically free. Thenassets were liquid, and their sole debt L 246. The committee had been trying to got the club into such a state that if the totalisator was done away with they would be still able to go on and give LIO.OOO to £12,000 a year in prizes. The report was then adopted. The retiring committee were elected, except that Mr G. 11. Reid was replaced by Mr J. Kirkwood.
