OBTAINABLE FOR .£70,000. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Melbourne, Aug. 2. In the Senate Mr Keating moved that Government should immediately acquire the Bass Straits Cable. It could, lie said, be obtained for .£70,000, the original cost. The Postmaster - General deprecated forcing the hand of tho Government. Tho debate was adjourned.
