PROTEST FROM AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At a largely-attended meeting of the Auckland Employers' Association, held for the purpose of considering the proposed Factories Bill, it was unanimouslydecided to forward to the Premier a strong protest against the Bill with regard to the reduction of the weekly hours of labor to 44, the undue limitation of overtime, the inclusion of Labor Day among the paid holidays, aud the penalty of £IOO provided for in clause 35 (bearing on accidents). It was pointed out that the Bill would be disastrous to boot and other trades, would upset the "recent awards of 48 hours per week, and would lead to a reduction of wages and the encouragement of importing.
