/ • Sy Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright Adelaide, July 16. The Eev. Mr Patou, the veteran New Hebrides missionary, has returned from London. He states that the proposal of France to annex the New Hebrides and send one hundred thousand convicts there was checked by the protests of Australia and Great Britain. These low class criminals had been deported to a destination unknown.
