THE STEAMERS.

- ■■■■" (To the Editor of Times.) Sirl think it time that some grumbling was done through the press in regard to the style of business adopted by the Auckland branch of the Union Company. It would appear as if an effort were being made to divert Gisborne trade to Wellington. Generally speaking the company is most obliging and attentive to the public interests, and in Gisborne every effort is made to facilitate matters. What i have to complain of is that a vessel should be detained at Auckland until bait-past three p.m. in midwinter, especially on a day when the weather reports from all along the coast indicated rough weather as on Saturday. Had the weather been fair it is not right that boots should bo so timed that the” work at Gisborne on a Sunday must bo done after dark.—l am, etc., Business Man.
