THE INQUEST. THE CRIMINAL CARELESSNESS OF SOMEBODY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night. An inquest on tho body of Mrs Snoyd was opened yesterday, when evidence was taken with the view of ascertaining who was responsible for the setting up of a stand in tho busiest part of the town to discharge fireworks from, and how it came that a ship’s danger signal, containing high oxplosives, was fired without precautions being printed on the outside of each. After sitting till 10.30 p.m., the inquest was adjourned until Tuesday. Tho sufferers now in tho hospital are doing fairly well. Several cases of injuries havo boon reported, but with tho exception of ono young man, they aro of a minor character.
