PATEA ELECTION.
STRAIGHT-OUT STRUGGLE
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. It is probable that the contest for the Patea seat will be narrowed down to a straight out struggle between the Ministerial and Opposition candidates. Mr John Hislop’s candidature will receive Government support, Mr Hasclden being the Opposition candidate. The election will probably be fixed for Wednesday, 24th inst., the writ issuing to-morrow; .
