HORTICULTURAL SOCIETIES.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. A conference convened of delegates of horticultural societies was opened today by an address by Mr A. Moritzen, President of the Dunedin Society. As that gentleman could not act, Mr H. Beotham was appointed Chairman at the evening sitting, Papers were read by Mr Grubb, on the codlin moth; Mr Fitch, Government expert, on spraying and grapes at Otaki, and on fruit posts from a national aspect.

It was resolved to ask Government to pass un Orchard and Garden Pests Bill, on lines to bo suggested by the Committee appointed to draw up the Bill, tho measure to be approved by the whole of the delegates.
