MINERS’ DISPUTE.
A MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. A meeting of mine owners and mining companies’ representatives was held this afternoon. Nearly all the companies cited in the recent hearing of the dispute before the Conciliation Board were present. As a result of the meeting the following resolutions were carried unanimously : —l. That representatives of the companies shall refer tbo matter of appeal by cable to their principals with a recommendation that the ease bo taken to the Arbitration Court. 2. That this meeting endorse the action of Mr Brown, of the Kornata Reefs Goldming Company, and pledges itself to give him all the actual and moral support possible to prevent the system of single hammer working mines being abolished. It was further decided to form a Mine Representatives’ Association, and the necessary initiatory steps were taken. With regard to the first resolution, it is understood that so soon as the award of the Board was made known somo of the company representatives cabled Homo to their principals on the lines of the resolution.
