FIVE SUCCUMB. (Special to Times.) Auckland, last night. Among the many presont to bid farewell to the departing Gisborne Maoris was Dr l’omaro, who is becoming so wellknown in that district. The learned gentleman has been a great acquisition and a good friend to tho Maoris during tho Royal visit to Rotorua. Owing to the dampness and unpleasantness of tho weather, together with the great exposure, many Maoris wore suffering different ailments, somo seriously. Dcspito tho native doctor's strenuous efforts to allcviato tho patients' sufferings, fivo succumbed. All this will necessitate Dr Pomaro’s remaining in closo attendance. Indeed, he only had six hours’ sleep in a week.
