STOCK SALES.
MESSES WILLIAMS AND KETTLE’S” BEPOBT. Thk weather was gloriously fino yesterday for the monthly stock sales held at the Matawhoro yards by Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and the attendance of settlers from all parts of tho district was large. Mr A. F. Kennody sold on behalf of Messrs Williams and Kettle, and Mr J. W. Bright for the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Messrs Williams and Kettle report as follows: We held our usual sale at the Matawhoro yards on Thursday, when there was a largo attendance. The yarding of both sheep and cattle was fairly large. The sheep, although not all sold under the hammer, were subsequently disposed of at satisfactory prices. The following sales were made : On account of Mr A. Tuohy, 36 forward ewes, 8s Gd, to Mr J. Ferguson ; on account of Mr A. Milne, 119 old owes, to Mr Guthrie Smith, 6s; on account of Mr E. Isaacson, 120 wothers, to Mr Monckton, 8s lOd; on account of Mr Cummings, a good line of young ewes in lamb, to Mr Easterbrook, at 13s ; on account of same owner, 53 woolly hoggets, to Mr Guthrie Smith, 8s ; on account of Mr Alison, 45 ewes in lamb, to Barron Bros., 9s; on account of Mr Linklater, 39 full-mouth empty ewes, 8s sd, to Mr Guthrie Smith ; on account of Mr B. Cook, 100 ewes in lamb, to Barron Bros., at 8s 6d ; on account of Mr Linklater, 45 fat ewes, to Mr Carmichael, at 10s 2d. A number of other lines were also disposed of. Wo offered about 60 head of cattle, all of which sold at very fair prices, with tho exception of the prime heavy beef, which hardly realised the owners’ reserves. Negotiations are now pending for the same, and they will probably be disposed of. The beef was very prime quality, and was included in tho entry of Mr George Campbell, of Patutahi. A SPECIAL SALE. Messrs Williams and Kettle will hold an important sale of stock .at tho Matawhero yards on the 27th inst., when a lot of young cattle brought from the West Coast by Mr Thomas Byrne will bo offered. This line, which has been noticed prominently on several previous occasions, is attracting a considerable amount of interest among graziers in this district. WAEEENGA-A-HIKA SALE.
Messrs Common, Shelton, and Co. and Messrs Wyllie and Mason hold their monthly sale at the Waerenga-a-hilta yards on Thursday, July 4th.
