Gisborne Poultry Fanciers’ Club.
The annual meeting of the Club was held at the Argyll Hotel last night, there being present: Messrs Moore (in the chair), Banger, Green, Schwabe, Williams, Pasley, Binnie, D. T. Hughes, and Gault. The balance-sheet was read by the Secretary (Mr Banger), and showed a small nett balance, and donations to the value of about 4)10 to come in. The Chairman said he had hoped to see a moro satisfactory balance-sheet for the past year, but they must hope for a better one in the coming year. On the motion of Mr Green, seconded by Mr Schwabe, the balance-sheet was
adopted. At this stage, the Chairman (Mr H. M. Porter) arrived, and thereafter presided. The following office-bearers were elected :—Patron, Mr E. Murphy. Vice-Chairman, Mr G. R. Mooro. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. Ranger. Auditor, Mr G. IC. Pasley. It was resolved that the annual Show be held on Friday unci Saturday, July 26th and 27th. Mr Green moved that the selection of a judge be left to the Chairman, Secretary, and Mr Gault. Mr Schwabe seconded the motion.
Mr Williams moved that the whole of tho committee have the selection in their hands, but the amendment lapsed for want of a seconder. Tho tone of the discussion was that it would be impossible to get Mr Dacre or others suggested, and it was considered that there would bo difficulty in getting a suitable judge. The motion, for a sub-committee Was carried.
Mr Green suggested that in tho event of an outside judge not being obtainable, Mr Gault be appointed judgo of poultry, and Mr J. S. Johnston judge of pigeons. The suggestion met with general approval. The question of a hall in which to hold tho show was left to Messrs Bangor and Moore to arrange. It was decided to hold the art union as usual. The schedule was adopted.
